Regaining Control Of Our Institutions
Most people are aware of Political Correctness (PC), but few know how it came to dominate our Culture. It did not happen by accident, but was done purposefully as a means of creating the conditions for revolution by Marxists, under the guidance of thinkers like Antonio Gramsci, Rudi Dutschke and Herbert Marcusse, who envisioned a Long March Through The Institutions.
“To extend the base of the student movement, Rudi Dutschke has proposed the strategy of the long march through the institutions: working against the established institutions while working within them, but not simply by ‘boring from within’, rather by ‘doing the job’, learning (how to program and read computers, how to teach at all levels of education, how to use the mass media, how to organize production, how to recognize and eschew planned obsolescence, how to design, et cetera), and at the same time preserving one’s own consciousness in working with others.
The Long March Through The Institutions was their path to controlling all important institutions, (political, social, religious and economic) as a means of taking control of nations and eventually the world. It would be a “quiet revolution” of undermining institutions from within, while also attacking those institutions from without.
Unfortunately, they have been very successful at infiltrating all the important institutions and in taking control of them. One of the important institutions they have near absolute control of is education. Both at the local and national level, these Marxists control most every educational institution, at the elementary through college levels, and including the administrations and school boards. They are, to put it bluntly, now indoctrinating our children with not just Political Correctness, but with Globalist, Marxist ideology. They hide their Marxist ideology behind the banner of Progressivism, of course, but they are Marxist at the core. Some don’t realize it, yet they spout Marxist ideology nevertheless, thinking it is “progressive” thinking.
How do we oppose this takeover of the educational system by Marxists? The Marxists spent many years burrowing into the system, as they had the patience to do so. We must be just as patient in retaking it. In the meantime, there are other ways of protecting our children from Globalist/Marxist indoctrination.
There are two movements that are growing in strength which offer hope for our children. One is the homeschool movement. Large numbers of families throughout the United States have taken this path in order to see their children get a real education, instead of a dumbed down, indoctrination in public schools. They refuse to leave the education of their children to Marxists/Globalists, who don’t educate the children in their care, but instead indoctrinate them.
A second movement is the rise of private schools dedicated to a Classical Education. Whether they be Christian schools, or schools not affiliated with religions, these schools are growing in number, as an alternative to public schools.
Naturally, the “progressives” are opposed to homeschooling and the new schools promoting a Classical Education. They would be, as they infiltrated the educational system to destroy Classical Education. By withdrawing from public schools, families are denying the “progressives”, (Marxist/Globalists), the opportunity of indoctrinating their children.
